New Online Concept for Schleswig-Holstein State Museums
One of the largest museum associations in northern Germany, the Landesmuseen Schleswig-Holstein, have commissioned gradwerk with the conception, design and implementation of their eight-website website. Within the framework of a call for tenders, the webworkers around the digital agency gradwerk from Lübeck were commissioned by the museum association of the state museums of Schleswig-Holstein with the mobile-compatible online project for conception and implementation.
The new websites include the portal pages of the Schleswig-Holstein State Museums: Museum Island Gottorf Castle, Museum of Art and Cultural History Gottorf Castle, Viking Museum Haithabu, Museum of Archaeology Gottorf Castle, Cismar Monastery, Jewish Museum, Gottorf Globe, Open Air Museum Molfsee and Iron Art Casting Museum Büdelsdorf.
The various museums present themselves on hundreds of pages with a wealth of information about their respective cultural offerings. Thanks to various databases, visitors can flexibly research events, guided tours and exhibitions and filter them according to relevance.
With the help of CMS 6 from the web agency gradwerk, the staff of the Schleswig-Holstein State Museums can manage and expand all content. In particular, the diverse and specially designed databases are easy to manage and provide a very good overview of the various exhibitions and dates relating to guided tours and other offers.
In the near future, additional graphic and interactive components, which have already been developed, will be available on the pages, enabling museum visitors, among other things, to publish their own pictures of their visit.
Furthermore, the CMS 6 Commander will soon be implemented as a comprehensive signage solution in the provincial museums to provide visitors with up-to-date information on appropriate displays; the displays will be fed by data from CMS 6.
The Schleswig-Holstein State Museums Foundation is an association of previously independent state museums and is based at Gottorf Castle in Schleswig. It was founded in 1999 and is the largest sponsor of Schleswig-Holstein museums alongside the Cultural Foundation of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck.
