Lübeck Museum Association present themselves in a new design and technological way.

The Kulturstiftung Hansestadt Lübeck has commissioned the web professionals at gradwerk to comprehensively relaunch the websites of Lübeck's museums. From now on, the museum association presents itself in a new design and technological guise.

In order to increase the reach of the websites of the LÜBECKER MUSEUMS and to ensure user-friendliness for those who are on the move with smartphones and tablets, the Kulturstiftung Hansestadt Lübeck commissioned the web agency gradwerk to develop a responsive design concept.

In the course of the new usability concept, a new design was created and the search and filter options for those interested in culture were redefined. The museums of Lübeck's cultural landscape present themselves on twelve different websites: from the Buddenbrookhaus to the Günter Grass House, the St. Annen Museum, the Museumsquartier to the Museum Behnhaus Drägerhaus and many more. Visitors will find all the information they need on exhibitions, dates and guided tours in a clearer format. All content is intelligently interlinked. Users who are interested in a particular exhibition automatically receive recommendations, for example, about which suitable guided tours will be taking place in the next few days. The highlight: each appointment or series of appointments can be easily transferred to the user's own digital calendar.

All the new websites are divided into four important main topics: Museum, Exhibitions, Visit and Programme. This means that the navigation is always clear and concise, yet the possibilities are extensive.

In future, the websites can be managed with CMS 6; specially designed databases were created for the diaries and offers, which can be updated directly in CMS 6 using individual software. Before the launch of the new online presence, however, a true masterpiece had to be achieved: in just a few months, 37 online editors created a whole 480 pages of content with 1,800 pictures, 500 dates, almost 200 exhibitions and 50 permanent offers.

Furthermore, the CMS 6 Commander, a kiosk software specially developed by gradwerk, is also used in the so-called Museumsquartier or St. Annen Museum. With the help of this signage solution integrated into CMS 6, information about what is happening in the museum is displayed on a total of three screens in the ticket office area. All content can be published on the screens using Commander widgets. These dashboards are set up with convenient drag & drop operation.
