For the opening of the museum, both model brands can now be admired and experienced in Lüdenscheid on a total area of 500 square metres in the so-called SIKU // WIKING Model World. The exhibition is presented in a historical industrial ambience on two levels and is thus the most extensive permanent exhibition of model cars in the whole of Germany.

gradwerk has conceived, designed and developed a four-language touchscreen application for this exhibition, which allows visitors to browse through old catalogues and read excerpts from SIKU and WIKING books. The entire application is operated on a 21.5-inch touchscreen using gestures, with the pages of the books being turned, enlarged and moved with the finger, for example. Around 800 pages were digitised and integrated into the application.

Visitors can also obtain additional information on the brands, take part in a permanent competition, subscribe to the current SIKU or WIKING newsletter and immortalise themselves in the guest book with a photo taken from the application.

Thanks to the integration of the gradwerk CMS, content can be expanded and new catalogues maintained without detours in the future. gradwerk is responsible for the complete design concept, the implementation of the application and also the secure configuration on the touchscreen computers.
